POSTNATAL: How much Lochia is to much?

I'm exactly six weeks postnatal. I had my baby by c/section. I had normal heavy bleeding after delivery that tapered off then returned and finally stopped at 3 weeks after passing very large clots. I felt fine for 3 weeks and suddenly I started having shooting pains in my side left side lower abdomen. I ignored it because this is my second c/section and I recall shooting pains happen. But I felt a gush and went to the restroom and there was an extreme amount of lochia. It was clear then red streaked as if I were pregnant and losing my mucus plug. Obviously I'm not so this had me concerned. I figured it would go away but it seems to be getting thicker and my stomach seems to be hurting even more then before. It doesn't smell at all but it's so thick that it's starting to worry me and becoming very excessive. Could this be caused by doing to much? Or is this common in the 6th week pp?
