Absolutely NO disrespect to Dr. Goldfarb is meant or intended. While those therapies he mentions may "help," it is not a long term solution. Depo Provera (DP) is NOT meant for those that may want to have children later. It has caused women to have very irregular periods, or no periods whatsoever. I was one of them. It took over two years for my period to return following DP. Further, it did not stop my pain completely. I used DP, Lupron, OCPs (Oral contraceptive pills), etc. etc. etc. The only therapy that truly worked was excision. My excision was in 1998 and as of my hyst for Adenomyosis in Nov 2007, there is still no trace of endo to be found! 9 1/2 years...that says a lot!!

Your best bet is to find a surgeon who knows how to EXCISE the Endo. There are a handful of surgeons around the US that do this surgery. My personal favorite (I'm biased as he is mine) is Robert Albee, MD from The Center for Endometriosis Care (http://www.centerforendo.com). His partner, Ken Sinervo is also excellent!!! I trust both of them with my life!

David Redwine in Bend Oregon is also excellent and has trained many MDs in the technique of excision. His web address is http://www.endometriosissurgeon.com.

I do hope this helps!
