BIRTHCONTROL: IUD insertion didn't work!

I am in my 20s and never had children. I went to the doctor today during my period, and they tried to insert the Mirena IUD twice. I was probably there for 2 hours. She said that of the 15 years she's been doing this, I was the 3rd person to be so difficult. She dilated me but couldn't get the IUD inserter past. It hurt so much. I'm wondering if this is normal? Should I be worried about anything in the future if I want to have children? Also, I have migraines with aura, and one doctor wouldn't prescribe me hormonal birth control while the other one (from today) did. Should I be worried that I am on hormonal birth control?
