I gave birth exactly 3 months ago. My history has been very normal, all reproductive health also normal. I had the Mirena IUD put in at 8 wk pp, and the insertion was fine. My first period after my IUD insertion was fine, it only lasted about 4 to 5 days, and it was over, with some breakthrough bleeding throughout my cycle. I started my second period since giving birth about 15 days ago, and have been bleeding for 14 days straight. I know some of this is normal, but I'm also having strange throbbing pain (dull and just every now and then) on the right side right above my pubic bone. I stopped bleeding yesterday. Lastnight, after intercourse, I awoke to bleeding again by this morning. I don't understand why I'm bleeding so much, unless it's my body still getting used to the IUD and hormones. Any feedback would be so helpful! My insurance has been cut off temporarily, so that is why I am asking this way instead of going to my OB. Thanks so much!!
