Kirsten,

If your friend is not good with follow up or follow through, I would not suggest the Mirena to her. It is an IUS (Intrauterine System), which does require a post insertion visit to ensure it is still in place....just from the tiny bit you stated, I wouldn't think this is for her. With the NuvaRing, I would think that would be easy enough for her...if it doesn't work, she will know.

I have enjoyed reading his responses on this list and have learned from him. His office is really not terribly far from me, however, due to my history of Endo and Adenomyosis (just had an LSH done in November 2007), I do see an Endometriosis Specialist (Robert Albee, MD). He's been my MD for 10 years now. I absolutely adore him. I have had some very trying times lately adjusting, and he has been there for me every step of the way, as has his partner (Ken Sinervo, MD). I know it doesn't matter what time of the day or night, both docs are there for me!!!!
