Kirsten, If your friend is not good with follow up or follow through, I would not suggest the Mirena to her. It is an IUS (Intrauterine System), which does require a post insertion visit to ensure it is still in place....just from the tiny bit you stated, I wouldn't think this is for her. With the NuvaRing, I would think that would be easy enough for her...if it doesn't work, she will know.
