Re: ADHESIONS: Possible adhesions/scar tissue around left ovary. What do they do for this? From: grateful mom (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Feb 2008 07:48:16 -0600 (CST)
MIchelle - Please note that the only way to diagnose adhesions is via laparoscopy. The ultrasound will only show an ovarian abnormality. If in fact adhesions are the problem some drs are willing to lyse (release) the adhesions while some do not believe this will help. Laprascopic adhesiolysis is preferred to an open incision (laparotomy). Adhesions tend to occur even after they are lysed (sometimes much worse). I don't know of other options besides pain management. Ovarian removal may be your best option. Good luck.
