I had a d&c on Friday for miscarrying at 13 1/2 weeks. Baby measured 13 weeks. On Sunday, I started running a fever and had a lot of lower abdominal and back pain. I went to the er. They ran a lot of bloodwork and sent me for a US. The US came back as my uterus was filled with blood and debris or placental fragments. My ob was called and he said it was highly unlikely to be placental as he had done a thorough exam on Friday under anesthesia when he did the d&c. They said it was most likely blood and debris. They put me on .2mg of methergine. Said it would be painful like labor. That would get the rest of this out. It didn't work. I had pain and cramps but nothing has really come out and I am on the 4th dose. I have to call and schedule an appt for tomorrow this morning and will be talking with the nurse. But there is NO BLEEDING except when I wipe and it is very little. So now what. Will I have to take this med again? Will I have to do another d&c? This just stinks.
