PREGNANCY: threatened miscarriage - 6 1/2 weeksFrom: M (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Feb 2008 08:29:26 -0600 (CST)
I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant (LMP was 9 Jan 08) and three days ago started having vaginal bleeding. The first day I did not even notice I was bleeding until I went to the toilet to urinate and noticed the blood on the tissue paper when I went to wipe. The blood was a pink color and not that much of it. The second day I had some light cramps as if I had my period and bled as if I had a light period. This time the blood had darkened to a red and there was a bit more. I went to the doctor and she ordered a blood test which showed that my hcg levels were 822, which are lower than what they should be at my stage of pregnancy. That night I had waves of stronger cramps during the night... Today I had more blood like yesterday, again dark red and like a light period. I only had to change my pad once during the day. I am due for an ultrasound tomorrow. My question is, how low is 822 for my hcg levels? Is this a probable sign of impending miscarriage? I don't seem to have clots in the blood (or if any, maybe one or two). The blood I'm passing seems to be thick and coagulating somewhat, with something else in it, something clear and sticky like egg white. I need some insight as to how bad things are looking for the baby... please help.
