PREGNANCY: Pregnancy after D&C at 13 1/2 weeksFrom: Sara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Feb 2008 08:31:03 -0600 (CST)
I miscarried at 13 1/2 weeks on Thursday and had a d&c on Friday. The baby measured at 13 weeks. We saw a heartbeat at my ob's office at 12 weeks 4 days. I had my first peri appt on Thursday due to a history of severe preeclampsia and severe pih in two previous pregnancies, both resulted in premature births at 36 and 35 weeks. My question is how long does it take to ovulate after the d&c. Before getting pregnant, I had regular 28 day cycles. I do have have endometriosis but it has not affected my ability to concieve. Baby #1 conceived on first try. Baby #2 conceived on 2nd try. Baby #3 (miscarriage at 13 1/2 weeks) conceived on 1st try 1st cycle after taking continuous bcp for a year. My ob suggested waiting 3 months but I can't. I want to be pregnant again as soon as possible. For me that will be the only thing that will make it better. The only thing I have seen on the net is that the uterine lining is thinner and chance of miscarriage is .05%. I have also seen many many many stories from women that have had a D&C and conceived 2 weeks later and went on to have healthy babies. Another reason not to wait three months is because I am afraid the endo will come back even worse and do not wish to go through any horrendous periods.
