CHRONICPAIN: Long term constant crampingFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Feb 2008 18:18:02 -0600 (CST)
I'm 24 years old and have had constant cramping for 6+ months. I first noticed it after my boyfriend and I had sex in a more flexible, deeper-penetration position (missionary w/ my legs over his shoulders). I noticed it the day after and it lasted about a week before it went away. At first the cramping only occurred when I was sitting. A couple weeks after it had gone away it came back again and has been around consistently for 6+ months. The pain is still worse when I'm sitting (to the point of me not being able to attend my classes sometimes), but I can feel it all the time. I can't pinpoint a location aside from the lower abdomen/pelvic area. Sometime it's more on the left, sometimes more on the right, and sometimes centered. I've seen three doctors about it and none seem to know what it is. I was diagnosed w/ HPV (the non-cancerous, non-warts kind) in September and had it removed w/ a colposcopy in December. I doubt that's anything to do with it though since nothing has changed pain-wise. I've since had a couple physicals and an internal ultrasound and still nothing. I'm scheduled for a laparoscopy in a week so I hope they finally find something. I'm nervous for the lap. I've never been put under and the idea of it kinda freaks me out. I'm also worried about the results. I've researched online quite a bit and the only answers I've come across are endo, cysts, or cancer. I've also read about many women needing hysterectomies. None of this is sounds pleasant. I'm also worried because nothing I've read mentions the pain being worse while sitting because that's my main issue. If I sit for more than 5 minutes, the pain is VERY bad. Does anyone have experience with something similar? or have advice on the lap and/or the outcomes? Thanks!!
