MENORRHAGIA: long cycles, TTC

Ever since I stopped taking my B/C pills back in Sept. 07, the lengh between my periods have gotten longer every time. My last periods were 45 days apart. 28 days after the start of my last period (Jan. 12th) I ovulated. Today is day 14 after ovulation and I have not had my period, and had a neg. hpt. I have been having cramps and two days ago(12 days after ovulating)I had some very very light brownish red spotting, I wouldn't have seen it if had not been looking for it, but it was only once and then nothing. My questions are 1. can an extra long cycle decrease your chances of getting pregnant, other than not ovulating as frequently? And, 2. Since I ovulated so late in my cycle could 14 days later still be too early for a positive htp? We have been TTC for 3 months and had strict unprotected sex every other day, because I was not sure when I was due to ovulate until I started charting. I would love some help on this because I have to wait over a month just to see my doctor! Thanks!
