CONTRACEPTION: Skipping a week of pills..

I'm currently on the Seasonale birth control pill and have been for about two years now. Even though Seasonale give you 4 periods a year, my next period has conveniently landed on my one week of vacation in March.

I was wondering if it were possible to ignore my last week of active pills and jump straight to placebos, basically getting my period one week earlier than I should, and then the following week (week of vacation) I start a new set of pills. I really don’t see the problem seeing as how the Seasonale pills do not change dosage and because they are 84 days worth of pills instead of the normal 21-23 cycle.

I heard many people say you should just ignore the placebos and just jump straight into a new set of pills, basically skipping my period. I find that ridiculous, especially on an 84-day contraception. I will probably get my period anyway if I do that.

I really would appreciate advice on the matter. It's such a frustrating situation..
