Generally speaking, it's unusual for a doctor to keep trying medications or other therapies without knowing the diagnosis. You don't mention your age, but if you are over 35 (some would say over 40) then you likely need a biopsy of your uterine lining. This takes seconds and is done in the office. The rest of your workup would depend on your history and exam findings, but might include: vaginal sonogram, saline vaginal sonogram, hysteroscopy (thin tube placed into uterus to look around). Given your history, I would suggest speaking with your doctor, and if this does not result in further action, a second opinion. Best wishes,
