I have been having irregular/heavy periods, painful periods, chronic pain and during sexual intercourse for the past 15 yrs. I found out in 2/07 that I had pre-cancerous cells and that they were very high and that I needed to have them removed asap. I had the Leep done in 5/07(I waited that long due to my step-father who was dying of an illness). I cont'd with the other issues and the Dr. recommended that I have an ablation and a D & C and I requested to have my right ovary removed also due to severe pain on that side along with a cyst. That was done in 11/07. When I had the surgery done she also found a lot of endometriosis in the very back and in my cervix. My periods are not very heavy at all which I am thankful for, but the pain and now since my surgery, I am spotting after I have sexual intercourse and the spotting last from 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. I am very fustrated and so I called my doctor and she wants to see me, but she is now recommending a hysterectomy. If anyone can let me know if they went thru this and what experience they had and also what to expect after a hysterectomy.
