GENERAL: Labia majoria extremely itchy 5 years

I have had an extremely itchy labia for over 5 years and I am not sure would have caused it. I have psoriasis and it is not that because it is not red, but I would say it is very dry and flakey. I end up scratching at night and when I do it ends up making it sore and bleed. The only thing that seems to help is non-perfumed lotion, but it only helps for a few hours and is itchy again. I have not gone to see my family doctor about this issue as it is embarassing, but my mother had cervical cancer so I worry about that. I go for my yearly exams and never miss a year.

Is there any suggestions as to what I can use to stop the itch for a longer period of time?
