I doubt this is miscarriage. We use the term 'chemical d&c' when we are giving a hormone to clean out the uterus, meaning doing it with medicine instead of surgically. Most women will stop the irregular bleeding between 6 months and 1 year on the mirena. You have definitely gone beyond this. If you are getting frustrated and your doc feels she has tried all she can, then I think pulling the iud would be a good choice...Dr. von Almen
