First point is that the CA 125 is not a diagnostic screening test and should not be decisive in the diagnosis. Secondly an ultrasound exam should be more precise then 3-5 cm. If an ovarian cyst is 3 cm it can be followed. If it grows over the course of a month then it needs to be removed. This can be done via a laparoscope.
