Hi everyone Im posting on behalf of my mom, who is 52 and has had a history of ovarian cysts that have just come and gone over the years. She has been post-menopausal for the past 2 years, yet this past month she experienced a period. She bled for 5 days and experienced all the same symptoms she had when she was menstruating in the past. At the same time, she started getting pains in her lower abdomen and had a transvaginal ultrasound. After speaking with her doctor, she found out that she has one regular cyst and one complex cyst 3-5cm in size. At this point, she has had a CA 125 test but no results yet. Her doctor said the next step is a biopsy depending on the results of the test. Since this is now a waiting game she is getting quite worried, especially since her doctor can only fit her in for a biopsy at the end of february.
