EMOTIONAL: Depression In Females Linked To Sense Of SmellFrom: Hope Waltman (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 6 Jan 2008 13:07:19 -0600 (CST)
Question about this is how could depression affect the way women think their body smells concerning body discharge? When we get examined because we think we have a foul odor or a lot of discharge smell do the doctors really sense the same thing during the examination?? Sometimes there is nothing wrong. - Hope Waltman, WH Forum Moderator Depression In Females Linked To Sense Of Smell "Can't smell the roses? Maybe you're depressed. Smell too much like a rose yourself? Maybe you've got the same problem. Scientists from Tel Aviv University recently linked depression to a biological mechanism that affects the olfactory glands. It might explain why some women, without realizing it, wear too much perfume. Women who are depressed are also more likely to lose weight. With a reduced sense of smell, they are less likely to have a healthy appetite." http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/93041.php
