We have been trying for a second >going on 2.5 yrs. now. Janet, when a women has infrequent periods it's almost always because she is not ovulating normally if at all. This is more and more likely with increasing age so your age may be an important part of this especially if you're 35-40 or over. Your kit did not register an ovulation because you most likely did not ovulate, not because you read it wrong. I would urge you to first make sure you're not pregnant now and second, get an evaluation by a physician experienced in diagnosing and treating fertility disorders. Thyroid is only one (infrequent) cause. This evaluation is normally recommended after 1year of inability to conceive (6 months if over 35).
