GENERAL: Would like some helpFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Dec 2007 19:02:03 -0600 (CST)
Hello, the other day I went for my annual exam and had a very difficult experience. When the doctor was doing my pap & pelvic exam, it was very, very painful. He had to use three different sizes of speculums before I could tolerate it and then it was still painful. I'm a virgin, I have endometriosis, and I have had many pelvic exams in the past. None of the exams have ever been this painful for me. The pain was both at the opening of the vagina and deep in my pelvis. This was the first time I have seen this doctor before. He was super nice and I could tell he was trying to be very gentle...I just don't understand why this would have been so painful for me this time. Does anyone have any suggestions? How can a prevent this next time?
