There are surgical options that do not require hysterectomy such as a
uterine suspension performed abdominally (laparoscopically) to attach
the uterus back to the support ligaments, or vaginally (a Manchester
Fothergill operation) where the ligaments are shortened and so is the
cervix. Without a uterus, there is no hope for pregnancy, with uterine
preservation there is hope.
