There is no direct connection between LAVH and recurrent UTIs. But the stress of surgery can increase the risk. There is a catheter in the bladder during the surgery and this is a risk factor. The bladder is separated from the uterus and there can be inflammation or minor injury to the bladder that might require time to heal. Cystoscopy is appropriate as a stitch may be malplaced and causing irritation and symptoms. You are on the right track getting this worked up by your doctor.
