What medical indications did her OB provider state as a reason for wanting to do an induction? If there is no medical indication ('big baby' isn't a reliable one), I too would vote to wait for awhile. I don't believe in inductions unless there is a rationale medical reason. YOu could get a second opinion, though that might be challenging, as far along as she is.
