CHRONICPAIN: Pain on left sideFrom: S.L. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Nov 2007 21:00:10 -0600 (CST)
I'm 22 years old, not sexually active, and in great health (non-smoker, no major medical problems, etc.) About a month ago, I began to notice intermittent pelvic pain on the left side. I have no other symptoms. It is very mild pain, and in fact, when I first noticed it I thought it was just another little bit of pain from ovulation that would be over in about 24 hours -- but it never really went away! I get an uncomfortable little ache every two to three days, and it lasts anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. I looked up conditions that cause pelvic pain, and many of them cause pain on both sides. Could this be a cyst? A bladder infection? I have no problems with urination... Also, I have noticed for a few years that whenever I have a cold or flu, I also get increased vaginal discharge. Is that normal?
