YOUNGWOMEN: Small lump

A few weeks ago, I noticed a small raised bump above my groin area, a little bit under the band of my underwear. Since it was small and painless, I assumed it was just a pimple or an ingrown hair. The other night, however, I noticed that where this small bump was, there was now a lump, about the size of a marble, that I can feel under the skin. I can also move it slightly if I push on it. It's slightly painful to the touch or if the band of my underwear or the waist of my jeans rubs against it. I don't think there is any discoloration or inflammation, but it is located under the hair. I am concerned about it. I had recently consulted with my doctor about menstrual problems. I have not had my period in two months. I have had two negative pregnancy tests - one at the doctor's office. My doctor related it to stress, as I'm in college, and prescribed me oral contraceptives to begin taking once my period reappears. Since it hasn't though, I haven't begun the pills. Now though, I am worried that this lump is somehow connected to my menstrual problems. I'm only 19 years old and have never had any health problems in the past, so I am getting a little nervous.
