CHRONICPAIN: Bleeding for 3 1/2 Weeks????

Hi, So, I'm on Seasonale - which means I only get 3 or 4 periods a year. I'm on my first pack, and mind you I've been on Seasonale for a few years, but I start breakthrough bleeding. At first I didn't get worried, it was light and the directions say spotting is normal. Until the second week. When I filled up an entire regular pad. And last week when I filled both a regular pad and a super tampon. I'm starting week 4 this Tuesday. My GYN gave me another Pill and told me to double the dose (Femcon). No, I'm not and never was pregnant. Apparently, I have some ovarian cysts, but it's commmon at my age and she said it was nothing to worry about. But my ultrasound showed a benign growth on my liver - again nothing to worry about.

My question is, why am I still bleeding? Why am I getting these sharp awful pains in my reproductive area? And she said to take motrin for the pain - won't that screw up my liver even more??? AND she said it's a GI problem - not a GYN problem - but then WHY am I still bleeding lining from my uterus??
