PREGNANCY: Two black gestational sacs....questionFrom: kai00051 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 9 Nov 2007 09:05:02 -0600 (CST)
Message posted on kai00051 behalf by Hope Waltman, WH Forum Moderator Hello everyone, new to the forum. Was hoping someone could help with a few questions my wife and I have. We're expecting, but just got back from the Dr. and are now more confused than ever. Here's the stats. Last date of my wifes cycle was Sept. 4 2007 (we tried 9/16-9/22), hpt tests positive 10/6. She had a checkup with blood/urine samples last week, and today we had our '8 week' apt. Dr. couldn't find a heartbeat so he brought in the vag u/s. He was able to find two gestational sacs, but both appeared to just be black. He said it looked like we're at about 4 weeks, and want's us back on 11/19 for another u/s. Is it common for us to think we're at 8 weeks, but truly be at 4-5 weeks? (can 'conception' happen 3-4 days after the last time we had sex?) Is it common to see two black sacs at this time (per timeline above)? Is it possible that her body just thinks she's pregnant but nothing really took? Is it possible that twins at 8 weeks, can look like 4 weeks? Appreciate the help. Frustrated and now waiting....
