Some health fairs perform the bone density test for free or for a few dollars cost. The bone density can be checked by using the heel (some they use a finger) - it is painless, quick, and you get the results immediately. With the test results if you are osteopenia/osteoporosis level you can take that test result to your doctor and he/she may decide you need a dexa scan test, which may be paid by your insurance because of the findings of a possible health issue (bone density test results).
