PREGNANCY: Spotting at 19/20 weeksFrom: Patti (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Oct 2007 14:27:49 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, Just wondering: I have been spotting (red and gooey)slightly for the last week or so. I have been checked twice at L&D and both times my cervix has been closed with no sign of any blood on it. Today, I had my regular visit with the peri (due to a previous birth @ 22 weeks) and she saw no problems - cervix was over 4 cm and closed with no funnelling, placenta was on the back wall but not over the cervix, good amount of amniotic fluid and baby looked good. So, my question is - is this normal, or is there something else that should be checked. I have not had intercourse at all this pregnancy on doctor's advice, and am at home on limited activity (but not bedrest). I also take a baby aspirin daily and 100mg of progesterone vaginally each day. I do not have a cerclage at this point. Thanks
