GYNECOLOGIC: your opinion please, -- My gut feeling vs. my family doctor

Hi, my long period stopped but my dull ache on left side still remains. Tried to go to a new obgyn( for a second opion)-- They Didn't have my records so they need a referral.

So I made an appointment with my family doctor, & I just got back now. He did a pelvic exam, & rectal (no blood found). He Didn't feel anything, reviewed my previous records & said transvaginal ultrasound shows nothing wrong, no polyps, it's clear. my endo biopsy was fine. I asked if this could be the beginning of menopause-- he said no --I'm too young (40)

He suggests Since these tests were done 3 months ago -- they are considered to be old & I should redo some of them-- at what point is a test result old?

He said he'd give me an obgyn referral, but he wants me to go get a pelvic cat scan & suggested a gastro doctor for a colonoscopy and something else (i can't read the writing on the precription). see him in 2 weeks.

I told him I'd like to go to the obgyn first and allow him/her to work on it.

I asked him if he thought the problem was the other "end" That he suggested colonoscopy, He said no -- it's just that things need to be ruled out.

I really don't want to go that route. I just want an obgyn-- right now.

I'm starting to question my attitude. I seek help & I just don't like the answers/suggestions I'm getting.

I'd like to go to my obgyn first, Am I want help but I feel Like I'm just being a problem to these doctors. At what point is a test old? I'd really like to see my obgyn first Is that ok? I'd like to try that mirana-- Is it wrong to have an idea of what I want before having a doctor's visit

any thoughts? thanks D
