CONTRACEPTION: Pierre Robin Syndrome and Birth Control

I have Pierre Robin Syndrome, which brings with it some minor complications. I have malformed hands, a small recessed chin, and scoliosis. I also have mitral valve prolapse and GERD, for which I take Nexium each day.

I was just wondering if taking birth control pills is safe for someone like me. I have never had problems with strokes, cancer, or my heart, although I do have the MVP.

Thank you for your input!
