CHRONICPAIN: I think my girlfriend has dyspareunia...what can I do?

My girlfriend and I have always had a very healthy sex life; we could make love all day if we didn't have jobs. In the past month, she started going on birth control, but aside from being slightly less wet than usual and having reduced acne, there has been little change.

About three weeks into taking it, she began having severe pains during intercourse, which she described as "ripping" and "tight" pains. They are unbearable to the point of stopping mid-coitus. I did some research and dyspareunia came up...

Has anybody else struggled with this? How do you handle it?

She is going to see a doctor, but I wonder if there is anything I can do to support her?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
