PREGNANCY: Is this normal or cause for concern? From: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 16 Oct 2007 09:30:11 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently 17 weeks 5 days pregnant, following 2 early miscarriages and a preterm birth at 22 weeks resulting in the loss of my son. My OB and Peri are not sure why I went into preterm labour last time, so this time are monitoring me closer (see ob every 2 weeks for a check up and manual cervix check, and see peri the alternate weeks for a TVU of my cervix and the baby). I am also taking baby aspirin daily and 100mg progesterone suppository daily as the P17 shots are not available in Canada yet. As of last Thursday everything was fine with the OB. I have noticed starting on Sunday that in the evenings that my uterus will tighten up for about 30-45 seconds and then relax. It is not painful, but I am definitely aware of it! Additionally, I still have the urge to urinate very frequently, and have been tested repeatedly for UTI and vaginal infections - all negative... I think that given my past history, I am just worrying about everything, but I would appreciate if someone could let me know if this uterine tightening and frequent urination are normal for 17- 18 weeks. My ob said that some women just have to urinate really frequently the whole pregnancy and it doesn't mean anything is wrong. Any advice would be appreciated...
