Re: PREGNANCY: Vaginal Birth after Perforated Uterus caused by IUD

Thankyou for your quick reply. The Gyn definately said that the perforation is at the lower part of the uterus, because she showed me photos of it from the hysteroscopy. She explained that the perforation is in a better place being lower down to the cervix, because during pregnancy that part of the uterus won't need to stretch/expand as much as as the top part, so won't get as thin. There was no need for any repair of the uterine wall as it had begun healing itself. For the laparoscopy they went through my belly button and a small 3mm scar about 10cm below my belly button. I am questioning the need for Casearian purely because you hear of women who have had Caesarian then give birth successfully. Aren't their scars a lot more 'risky' considering the size? Women everywhere who have had a Caesarian before become pregnant again - what makes me so much worse off?... In recommending Caesarian, I wondered whether she was just covering herself for insurance purposes.

Thanks again, Kellee
