ENDOMETRIOSIS: Lost on what to do nextFrom: Rebecca Sword (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 4 Oct 2007 09:09:40 -0500 (CDT)
I am getting increasingly worried about my health. I have had chronic pelvic pain and bleeding for the past two years. Every doctor I have been to has told me that it could be endometriosis but have ran no test or given me any advice on how to proceed. Only two of the 7 or 8 doctors actually gave me a pelvic exam and pap smear. I was on birth control pills that helped for a few months but things quickly went back to "normal". Last week I had a pelvic exam and twenty minutes later I was in pain and now I can barely function. I am looking for some advice on what I should do next or if I am possibly being too dramatic. I am going to try some new birth control pills but is it okay not to get a clear diagnosis? I want to have children and I know endometriosis can effect fertility so will taking birth control pills be enough to control it if I do have it? If there is anybody who lives in Indiana that knows of a good OB or specialist any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
