CHRONICPAIN: A long battle for answers with what could be endometriosisFrom: Rebecca Sword (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Oct 2007 12:17:34 -0500 (CDT)
I have had an on going pelvic problem for two years now so I have a lot to say about it but I will try and keep it short. I have been to the ER a couple of times and five different doctors who have told me that it could be endometriosis but do nothing to help me find answers or relief. I am overweight so that has to be it so here are some pills. I have lost 70lbs now and I think I deserve a definative answer regardless of my weight. These doctors said "I think" and "probably" to me and called it a day. I have had my gallbladder out this year and my appendix out two years before that so my medical bills don't really allow me to go see many more doctors when I know I won't get help. But I am in so much pain. Here are my symptoms: pain on the left pelvic area when active for more than ten minutes this now occurs by itself without activity on bad days it spreads across my whole pelvis and I feel bloated and tight pain and bleeding during sex excessive dryness (I think this is chronic. I had to be reopened when I was a baby because dryness caused my vaginal opening to close) fatigue and light headness Last week I went to my doctor again and he gave me a pelvic exam in which he found nothing (thank god) but about ten minutes later I was absolutely sick with pain. By the next day I couldn't even move. In the spring I started taking birth control pills and it improved for about a month or two. I could be active for almost a half hour! But they quickly stopped working and with all the other negative effects they had on me I stopped them. I am going to start new ones but I would still like answers. I have researched endometriosis and know it can cause infertility. My doctor wasn't willing to hand out advice so I am pleading with all of you to help me so I can stop living my life in ten minute increments and before I can't have children.
