Diane,
I am happy to hear you learned to self catheterize. Life is much better
without a bag to accompany you everywhere!. Heavy Periods can be
addressed without much wear and tear. Ask you doctor about the Mirena
IUD. It has progesterone in it (Levonorgestrol) and greatly reduces
bleeding. It is inserted in the office easily and works well for 5
years!! Don't suffer with heavy periods, it is not necessary! There are
surgical answers as well such as ablation, an outpatient procedure, you
go home the same day. Birth control pills can help a lot as well but
Mirena is the best and simplest answer.
