OVARIANCYSTS: One ovarian cyst to several cystsFrom: C (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Sep 2007 13:52:49 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I had an ultrasound about a month ago. It revealed that I had a small cyst on my left ovary, but the doctor could not tell if it is simple or complex and wanted to me to have another after my next cycle. I did and when I called to get my results all they could tell me was that there are now several cysts on my left ovary. (The doctors were gone for the day). I still don't know if they are simple or complex. I am very concerned now that there are more cysts in such a short amount of time. My question is, what would cause one small cyst to become several cysts within 3 weeks time? My pain has been occurring more frequently and with more intensity as the weeks go by. I've done all kinds of research on ovarian cysts but I cannot find anything about one cyst becoming several cysts in that short of time. I have read about PCOS but this doesn't quite seem to match my symptoms. -pain (on left side): Intermittant, at times sharp, other times aching -bloating -pain with intercourse -bowel issues (extreme relief after a movement however not in pain prior) -periods have been coming about a week early each cycle Any input would be mind-easing. It's the not knowing that is causing my anxiety. Thanks, C
