GYNECOLOGIC: Laparotomy, meosalpryostomy.From: Eva (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 29 Sep 2007 07:44:36 -0500 (CDT)
I have had surgery in May 2007, to reopen blocked fallopian tubes and have my ovaries scraped due to infertility. I was having problems with my regular menstral cycle and was sent to see specialist where we decided to try this surgery. I was cut from pubic bone to belly button for this proceedure. I have not stopped bleeding since. I have had 5 days of spotting in the past 6 months and the rest of the time it is heavy flows. The specialist gave me tranexamic acid to help alieviate the flow which worked for the first two months and now nothing subsides the bleeding. At times there are blood clots the size of ping pong balls and it comes on so fast and i don't know that it is going to happen until it is too late and I have to make a run for the washroom. I also have a slight burning sensation lower groin area. When i go to work or actually anywhere I take three changes of clothes with me just in cse and there are many times that I have had to change. I go through approx. 56 overnight maxis in a matter of 5 days, doubled up and sometimes that doesn't do it. I have had blood work done at my family physicians and it comes back normal, probably because I have been taking extra iron tablets along with stresstab womens vitamin. I have also been taking flaxseed oil. I have been trying to get back in to see the surgeon but he is so over booked that the next available appointment isn't until the end of Nov. I'm tempted to go to emerg. I have had it with this, I know this is not by any means normal. Have told my family physician, he won't do anything until the surgeon sees me. I have a very physical job, and everytime I lift something I have to run to the washroom, this is no life. I need advice. I am 35 years young, 6'1" 235lbs (well toned), unfortunately I do smoke approx 5 - 6 /day. (dr. won't put me on Birth control b/c of this) I work midnights. I eat healthy. I am very active (not since surgery, too afraid to do anything). Thank you
