PREGNANCY: I need advice on being pregnant in organic chemistry Lab!!!

I am in the second trimester of my first pregnancy and have just begun the first quarter of a year long Organic Chemistry Lab class. I want to know what type of respirator i should get to keep my baby safe from possible birth defects caused by the chemicals used in the laboratory. My lab instructor is insisting i wear a respirator but i am having a hard time deciding which type is best and where to order one from on the internet. I need this info ASAP. I cannot attend lab until i get one. Thanks so much!
