STD: HPV helpFrom: Anita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Sep 2007 13:32:13 -0500 (CDT)
I keep hearing contradictory things about the spreading of HPV and I need help. I recently discovered that I have HPV, the symptoms being warts around my rectum and between my rectum and vagina. My current boyfriend of 7 months has no knowledge of ever having HPV and he hasn't seen any symptoms of it. Because I have it (and because I haven't had any other sex partner besides him in 19 months ), I can assume that my current boyfriend must have the virus, also, correct? And after I get my warts treated, will I continue to get warts from my boyfriend? I am concerned because this relationship is important to me, but I don't want to have to get treated for warts repeatedly throughout our relationship because of him. I'm not sure about the effectiveness of condoms in preventing HPV infection, but it is irrelevant anyway because my boyfriend will not wear a condom.
