Re: MENSTRUALPAIN?: Is it or isn't it menstrual pain?From: D. Ashley Hill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2007 08:48:04 -0500 (CDT)
I would suggest that your doctor consider performing a vaginal sonogram to make sure that you do not have blood "backed up" in the uterus (the medical term for this is "hematometra"). Sometimes after an ablation, even if the doctor did a great job, there can be a tiny amount of uterine lining that did not get cauterized. Over time it responds to your hormones and the tissue can grow and start to bleed. But, the opening to the uterus might be blocked or partially blocked so the blood gets backed up, causing pain. There are a couple of ways to relieve this, but you would need a diagnosis first. Good luck and best wishes, Ashley Hill
