Christina,
Hopefully Dr. Lyons will answer this question as he is one of the well
known Endo Specialists in the country. Having said that, allow me to
add to hopefully calm your fears a bit.
Endo is very well known to cause a rise in the CA125. My Hematologist,
also an oncologist said he does not do a CA125 on any woman unless she
already has a cancer Dx. Even stress can raise the number.
Your best bet is to seek out an Endo Specialist (Tom Lyons, Robert
Albee, Ken Sinervo, David Redwine are just a few that come to mind...Dr.
Albee is my Dr. and has been for well over 9 years) and have a thorough
surgery. Many surgeons use ablation and just get the first layer or two
of Endo, leaving endo behind. So, you might get a little relief,
however, it is only temporary. Do yourself a favor and, in the long
run, save yourself a lot of money, and get to a Specialist.
Good luck to you!
