Re: ARTICLE: Removing Ovaries Before Menopause Leads to Memory, Movement TroublesFrom: grateful mom (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 13 Sep 2007 10:07:41 -0500 (CDT)
I found this article interesting as I had a unilateral oophorectomy following a TAH and have one ovary left which is encased in extensive adhesions. However, as I have looked more closely at the study, I have to wonder. Does the study represent a diverse poplulation i.e geographically, race, or socioeconomic diversity. I could see how the results could be skewed as we are looking at women who live in a climate that can be demanding emotionally as well as physically- long winters, cold temperatures. I was hoping the study would explain my "neuro deficits" as something other than crazy mom of two syndrome. LOL. Would a trial of unopposed estrogen be worth looking into as I seem to have other perimenopausal symptoms. I was thinking of discussing this with my gyn at my annual exam before reading the latest "research". Thanks for any input. Thanks to all MDs and CNMs for thier time and dedication to women's health. Great to see Drs Hill and Chaudacoff (sp) where is Dr.Siegel?
