ONCOLOGY: recurring cervicel dysplaciaFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 8 Sep 2007 21:05:39 -0500 (CDT)
Hello I am a 29 year old female who's had recurring severe cervical dysplasia from HPV. Over the last three years I've had two LEEP and one Cone procedures. After the second LEEP my GYN recommended I follow each pap with an endocervical scraping because the dysplasia had reached that area. I have since relocated. My current GYN told me the scrapping was not necessary. Should I seek a second opinion? It was also mentioned to me that I can only get these procedures so many times before I should have a hysterectomy. I do not have children but may want to in the future. At what point do I need to seriously consider this more aggressive alternative? I am also a type one diabetic, could this be playing a role in the persistence of this disease? Thanks Lu
