GYNECOLOGIC: Maybe it's not a yeast infection ...

I have had monthly yeast infections for almost a year now. At least I thought they were yeast infections. But two months in a row the home test for yeast infections came up with an abnormal pH meaning that it's likely not yeast. So maybe it keeps coming back because I've been treating the wrong thing - I know I should have had a pelvic exam to check it out but I'm humiliated by those!

Anyway, does BV ever show up as a recurring infection around the same time of the cycle each month? Or is it likely that it's one long infection that never truly goes away? I know that the home tests aren't fool proof. I actually have an appointment tomorrow morning.
