PREGNANCY: ~8wks and nothing on ultrasound

Hi - I had my first vag u/s today and the doctor did not see anything except for a thickening of my uterus. She said maybe my dates are off. The first date of my last period was 7/3. I don't know if I have regular cycles since I had been on the pill for quite some time (off for one year prior to preg). In addition, my husband and I just started tracking bbt and such the same month we got pregnant. I am not sure what my cycles are. I also had a m/c at 7 weeks in May 2007 - there was nothing on that u/s as well although I was already m/c for ~2 days at that time (we also got preg the first try). Is it still possible that I could still have viable pregnancy? I have never smoked, drank, used drugs, or have any health problems except for a LEAP procedure 2 years ago.
