CONTRACEPTION: Diaphragm

I went off of birth control about a year ago because I didn't like its effects on me (raised blood pressure and lowered libido). At that time we thought we'd try to get pregnant soon but have since decided to wait. I've been thinking about getting a diaphragm. I have a couple questions about them first:

1) Can you feel the device during sex?

2) How do you get fitted for one? I really really hate pelvic exams so I'd like to be prepared in my knowledge of what the doctor will do.

3) How does the efficacy compare to condoms?

4) I already have monthly yeast infections. Should I consider just going back onto the pill to regulate my hormones in an attempt to stop the yeast infections?
