Re: PREGNANCY: Severe Pelvic pain 33 weeks pregnantFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 30 Aug 2007 08:34:35 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there, that sounds like SPD (syphatic pubic disfunction) Basically what happens is the bit of cartilage that holds your pelvis steady gets stretched due to the weight of your belly and causes your pelvis to become misaligned causing your bones to click together, tenderness on/near your pubic bone, it's esp. bad after laying down for awhile then trying to get up, or when trying to move your legs one at a time (putting on pants, getting into the car etc.) Without proper care it will get worse. A Chiropractor who is skilled with pregnant women should be able to help realign the pelvis and relieve the pain.
